Giftshop hatty

Hatty in the Gift Shop.

The Gift Shop is a location accesible at the lobby in every chapter excluding Chapter 8. The gift shop can be entered at any time, and is the only place where the player can spend Gems andYarn. Hatty's "throne" overlooks the gift shop, with Hatty sitting motionlessly on it.

Although the layout of the Lobby changes with every Chapter, the layout of the Gift Shop does not.

First floor: Prisoner Unlocks[]

On the first floor of the gift shop, there are four vending machines that dispense a prisoner of a certain head type. The machines, from left to right, are: Circle, Cube, Triangle, and Cylinder. The player can spend 10 gems at a vending machine to unlock a prisoner. This price increases by increments of 5 when a certain number of prisoners have been unlocked, with the maximum being 30 Gems.

When a Prisoner is unlocked, they will walk out of the Gift Shop, and immediately become a playable head. If you unlock a prisoner or more in the shop and then exit, it'll prompt you to your Player setup screen before going back to the Lobby.

Second floor: Weapon Unlocks[]

On the second floor, you can find two, shady-looking guards: when the player gets close to them, this will prompt the message "you got the goods?" and they will extend their paw. When close like this to the guard, you may give them 5 yarn in return for one weapon, randomized out of a assortment of them.

The Weapon dealers can only give you weapons you haven't unlocked yet, so once you have all weapons, their text nor paw won't be prompted and you can't exchange yarn for weapons with them anymore.

Second floor: Trading Post[]

The trading post.

Like its name implies, the Trading post allows the player to exchange their possessions with others, either online or locally. Players can exchange Yarn, Gems, weapons and unlocked Prisoners with each other.

There are two Trading posts on the upper floor.

Trivia[]

  • There is an Easter egg exclusive to the Gift Shop where if you already unlocked everything from one of the unlock areas or can't afford anything else from it, and you stand in that spot and very gently tap the Y button on controller or ctrl, your character will shrug. This works at any of the Prisoner Concession Machines and in front of the two cats upstairs.
  • Hatty was originally going to have a group of cat bodyguards surrounding him and the throne in the original Gift Shop layout, with one larger, green-eyed old Guard who appeared to be the leader. This concept was removed in the middle of the creative process.
  • Chapter 8 is the only chapter you cannot normally access the Gift Shop from. This is for continuity reasons, because the player is in the Vault at this point, so being able to get in the Gift Shop from there wouldn't make any sense. However it works just fine if accessed from there using hacks.
